Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) Safety Course Practice Exam

In the context of firearm law, the term 'brandishing' refers to waving or displaying a firearm in a manner that is intended to intimidate others. This behavior is considered dangerous and can lead to panic or escalation of a situation. It is important to avoid brandishing firearms as it can result in legal consequences.

The other options are not correct because:

- Discharging a firearm in a public area (Option A) is generally illegal and separate from the concept of brandishing.

- Carrying a concealed pistol without a license (Option B) pertains to carrying a firearm illegally and is distinct from the act of brandishing.

- Using a firearm in a self-defense situation (Option D) is a different scenario than brandishing, as self-defense involves using a firearm to protect oneself in a lawful manner.
